A lovely breakfast: Four Teddington Park was the venue for this month’s TIPS meeting…

I do not know many industries where almost all the companies get together once a month and agree to work together throughout the year to help educate the community.  But that is just what TIPS, “The Integrated Partnership for Seniors”, is and does.

Just like the first day of school, there was also a late summer/early autumn buzz around the room as the many different North York community organizations came back together as one working group.  There was, of course, a lot of talk of summer holidays and getting back into the work mode.

TIPS is a collaborative group of for profit and non profit organizations that provide services and support programs for seniors in our community.   We invite you to browse through our website to learn more about upcoming health events and resources that are available to seniors in our community.

Running this organisation is a big job and is usually allocated to two co-chairs who rotate every two years.   This year’s co-chairs are Monica Black from Simple Easy Transitions and and Kimberly Irwin from Hair Cuts on Wheels.  Both Monica and Kimberly, at this early time of the day, were full of the energy they would need to get themselves through the two year stint, and I was thankful for the way this helped ease me into my day.

This month’s TIPS Breakfast was held at Four Teddington Park Avenue Retirement Home located in the lovely mid town tree lined streets just North of Lawrence on Yonge.  Janice Hicks Marketing Manager at this very quaint retirement residence organized a wonderful welcome breakfast of croissants, fruit, coffee and tea.  I did not leave till after 10 a.m. it was so good!

The next TIPS meeting will be on 8th October.  For members of the public who are interested in attending TIPS events please keep an eye on the events page.
