Growing the Community, One Walk at a Time

August 3, 2016 in Community, Events, Health and exercise |

Mosaic is proud to have started its Summer Pole Walking Club in early July with two wonderful sunny walks at both our locations; the Toronto Office at the CNIB Centre, and the Markham Office at The Shops on Steeles.

As the summer goes on, Mosaic is excited to see the Pole Walking Club as more people from the community join is in committing themselves to fitness this summer. Every week we hope to add another person to our club. Every week we will walk a bit further. Every week Mosaic hopes to grow a healthy community, one walk at a time!

Mosaic’s Pole Walking Club encapsulates Mosaic’s values of passion, compassion, and education. As the community gathers every week, these three values are ever present as we embark on our walks. Meeting every week and dedicating an hour of time to pole walking shows our passion.

If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of our Pole Walking Club, contact Kevin at 905 – 597 – 7000 or kevin@mosaichomecare.com. Mosiac’s Pole Walking club will run Thursdays (at the Toronto Office) and Fridays (At the Markham Office) starting promptly at 9:30am. The walk will be about an hour in length, going until around 11:00am. Refreshments will be served before and after our walk. Join Mosaic in growing the community, one walk at a time this summer!

Helping other members out with advice or encouragement shows our compassion. And providing sound fitness and nutrition advice, teaching each other new routes, and sharing local history shows our education. Each and every week we commit ourselves to these values!

Passion. Last year Mosaic hosted our first Pole Walking Club at our Toronto Office at the CNIB Centre. Regular attendees from last year, Doug, Carolyn, Gayle, Ellen and Zenaida, were excited and ready to go as it returned to this year. Each member is excited and committed to meet up every week. Their dedication to the Pole Walking Club is simply amazing!

Compassion. Every week members of the Club off encouraging words or help to others. Mosaic’s host Kevin helps attendees with the poles, or to other club members sharing words of encouragement are a few examples of how the community shares its compassion for each other. When individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer ’s or Parkinson’s come for a walk, club members are accommodating and helpful. Our community’s inclusiveness is great for everyone!

Education. After every walk our club members leave knowing something new. Whether it is a new healthy trend, or a favourite healthy snack, club members are always sharing their knowledge with each other. On our first walk at our Markham Office, one of our members shared with the group a history lesson. We walked by an old church in the area that had been built over 150 years ago. Every week members of Mosaic’s Pole Walking Club leave having learned something new.

Mosaic’s values of passion, compassion and education are brought to life every week with our success Pole Walking Club. With dedicated, friendly and generous club members Mosaic is proud to be hosting such a wonderful event for the community.
