Community Events at Mosaic This March

Winter is almost over (have we had one this year?) and Mosaic is excited to be hosting wonderful events for our community this March.

This month, join Mosaic as we continue to host favoured events like Pole Walking and the First Link Memory Café with the Alzheimer Society of York Region, welcome back a well-liked speaker in Lianne Harris, or bring speakers new to Mosaic to provide the community with important information. Here’s a look at the fantastic events we will be hosting this March:

1. Everything You Wanted to Know About Art (But Were Too Afraid to Ask!)

When: Monday, March 6th, 2017, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Mosaic’s Toronto Office, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Suite 215H, Toronto.

Learn about the who, what and why of art as we welcome back Lianna Harris to take us through the history of art. We will look at significant art movements while learning about the fantastic stories of artists throughout history.

2. Mosaic Pole Walking Club

Be a part of the Mosaic Pole Walking Group at our Markham Office.

When: Friday, March 17th, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Where: Mosaic’s Markham Office, 2900 Steeles Avenue East, Markham (Lower Level by Centre Court)

Our Pole Walking Club returns! On the 3rd Friday of every month Mosaic hosts a Pole Walking Club for the community at our Markham location. Curious about the poles and/or want to get in shape? Join us for an hour long walk and see what the benefits of pole walking are.

3. Sugars: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

When: Friday, March 17th, 2017, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Mosaic’s Markham Office, 2900 Steeles Avenue East, Markham (Lower Level by Centre Court)

What is the real story behind sugar? Rani Glick will be talking about everything sugar including the benefits, the limitations, and which ones to eat and avoid. Rani will also be providing a few delicious and healthy snacks for attendees to try!

4. Seniors Safety: Frauds and Scams

When: Tuesday, March 21st, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Mosaic’s Markham Office, 2900 Steeles Avenue East, Markham (Lower Level by Centre Court)

Have you received suspicious emails and phone calls from anonymous people? Frauds and Scams are becoming more common and seniors are a vulnerable target. Mosaic invites Bussie Woods, Community Services – Seniors Safety Offices from the York Regional Police to talk about seniors safety and how to deal with suspicious phone calls and emails. Learn how to protect yourself from frauds and scams with Mosaic and Officer Bussie Woods!

5. First Link® Memory Café

When: Tuesday, March 28th, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Mosaic’s Markham Office, 2900 Steeles Avenue East, Markham (Lower Level by Centre Court)

Interested in learning about memory related issues? Join Mosaic and the Alzheimer Society of York Region for our First Link Memory Café, a place with people with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia’s, and their caregivers can socialize and be a part of the community. Be socially, physically and mentally active with us, it’s good for the brain!
