From Mosaic’s roving community reporter/blogger/corporate & media communication’s operative Kevin Lopes:
With the opening of Mosaic Home Care Services second location at the CNIB Centre in early September, Mosaic has been making connections in the community. One of the most inspiring neighbours that Mosaic has had the opportunity to connect with at the CNIB is the Dotsa Bitove Wellness Academy. You can see our previous blog posts about our inspiring experiences with the work that is being done by the Academy here.
The Dotsa Bitove Wellness academy provides an arts-based program for people who have developed Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The program hopes to improve the brain function, and most importantly bring happiness to the lives of its participants through arts and social interaction.
The Dotsa Bitove Wellness Academy will be having an art festival where it will be showcasing the work of the extraordinary talents of the artists who deliver the programming of the Academy on Thursday, October 30th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. On top of celebrating the work of these artists who make the program possible, there will also be an opportunity to see how their talents are benefiting the participants with memory loss.
This is a rare opportunity to see the positive benefits art and social interaction. For more information on the upcoming Art Festival from our neighbours at the CNIB Centre, check the information below.
If you would like to attend the Bitove Academy – Speaker Series: Art Festival, please reserve your free ticket on Eventbrite here.
