As the summer of 2015 blends into fall, Mosaic has been busy planning events and service upgrades for the upcoming season! Over the year Mosaic has accomplished much with many new programs and ideas launched and many soon to be released:

Our Elder Caring Plus™, a light geriatric care management program, is gaining recognition amongst health care professionals in the GTA; our lifestyle program with the “Meaning of Me® at its core is getting into more and more homes and joining hands with our new Lifestyle Companions program. We have also been developing a specialized team for dementia care including sending our caregivers through the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Care Training Program and U-first™ program.

Health and safety training continues on a monthly basis for all employees. Caregivers who completed their monthly Health & Safety tests were entered into a draw for an evening out to Cinespace Film Studies, an evening out that included a chauffeur driven limo, a tour of the sets of Reign and the Good Witch and a meal at Mr. Greek! Six lucky caregivers were drawn from the hat.

Mosaic Caregiver Maria Ana: “I had so much fun last Friday! And especially being one of the members of that group and being part of the Mosaic front-line. Thank you so much for that opportunity. To all the staff of Mosaic, thank you so much and more power to our good office! To Nathalie and Jane, May God bless you always.”

Mosaic is about to enter its 6th year of business and community outreach. We have successfully grown from one office and one community resource centre to two of each and have plans to take our person centred, community focused brand of home care to more and more Canadians.

We would not be here but for the dedication of our caregivers, our client services staff, including our rotational on call, our media and marketing department and our community partners. We would also like to welcome two new team members, Kimberly Davies who recently took up a new role as Managing Director client services and Catherine Evelyn a heavily experienced veteran RN.

We would also like to warmly congratulate Martha Miller, our longest serving member of staff who in the last year took responsibility for our lifestyle services component. Martha will shortly have been with us for some 5 years!

And a reminder to our families, members, caregivers, community, staff and community agencies: Mosaic will be hosting the opening of our new Community Resource Centre on the concourse level at The Shops at Steeles & 404. We will also be celebrating 5th Year Anniversary! This will be held on Thursday October 29th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to register please contact 416-322-7005 or 905-597-7000.

And finally, we are happy to announce that Mosaic is about to embark on a partnership with Shepherd Village Inc. a large Retirement Community in Scarborough, to provide additional home care support to their residents. www.shepherdvillage.org stay tuned for more information.

Hope to see you soon at our many community events we host year round at our Toronto Office at the CNIB 1929 Bayview Avenue and our Markham office 2900 Steeles Avenue East.
