November 8, 2015 in Community, Mosaic Updates |

Thank you to all who attended our 5th Year Anniversary on October 29th, 2015

To all our guests, our community partners, members of the community and our very special mosaic members, WE, that is Nathalie and I, our frontline caregivers, our client services, operations and media marketing teams would like to welcome you to Mosaic Home Care Services and Community Resource Centres 5th anniversary celebration.

“We are especially pleased to welcome you to our new Community Resource Centre AT THE SHOPS ON STEELES AND DON MILLS, A FABULOUS COMMUNITY MALL, whose MANAGEMENT AND TENANTS ARE SO SUPPORTIVE OF OUR CENTRE.

Mosaic has long believed in the importance of businesses taking leadership roles in their community.  We acknowledge the role we have as a gatekeeper between those who seek services because of their needs and the wider relationships, resources and services that are relevant to those individuals with respect to those needs.

Awareness of the wider whole is a key part of our culture and a major reason we decided to explore and commit to developing our gatekeeper role through our Community Resource Centres.   Our society needs to invest in the social infrastructure that links people, their lives, their values and their cultures to each other as well as to the services, business and institutions that serve their needs.

We also care very much about the people we serve, the services we provide and how we provide them.  We have been a very innovative company introducing a number of things WHICH ARE a FIRST IN CANADA:

We have 2 COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTRES – these centres acknowledge our belief in that THE FAMILY, THE COMMUNITY and the person LIE AT THE HEART OF OUR BUSINESS MODEL.

WE HAVE RESEARCHED TRENDS IN complex care management, especially that of GERIATRIC CARE MANAGEMENT in Developing INTEGRATED CARE MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT SERVICEs.  We deliver these services through our joint venture WITH Audrey Miller, Managing Director of ELDER CARING INC. HAVING THE RIGHT SKILLS AND SERVICES TO MANAGE THE COMPLEX CARE NEEDS OF OUR MEMBERS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US.

WE HAVE DEVELOPED AND CONTINUE TO DEVELOP LIFESTYLE SERVICE COMPONENTS WITHIN OUR CORE MODEL – THE PERSON IS THE OBJECT OF OUR SERVICE AND THE CARE WE PROVIDE A WAY TO ALLOW THE PERSON TO CONTINUE TO LIVE AS A HUMAN BEING.

We are placing increasing emphasis on the development of our client services team.  We see our client services unit as a very important central cog in the development of our homecare service model.  All future development in homecare are likely to run this central unit which is responsible for the day to management and oversight of care and other services.

WE HAVE also DEVELOPED SOME WONDERFUL PARTNERSHIPS OVER THE YEARS AT MOSAIC –

FIRST LINK MEMORY CAFÉ AT MOSAIC PARTNERSHIP WITH ALZHEIMER SOCIETY YORK REGION ANDREA UBELL AND JONATHAN MACRI – A WONDERFUL PLACE WHERE THOSE NEWLY DIAGNOSED WITH MEMORY ISSUES OR ALZHEIMER’S DEMENTIA CAN COME AND SOCIALIZE, GUEST SPEAKER, MOVIES, INTERESTING TALKS IN A NON-CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT.

Elder Caring Plus – PARTNERSHIP WITH AUDREY MILLER OF ELDER CARING INC.  A GERIATRIC CARE MANAGEMENT COMPANY.  ELDER CARING PLUS PROVIDES A LIGHT GERIATRIC CARE MANAGEMENT INTEGRATED WITHIN THE HOMECARE MODEL.

OUR LASTEST PARTNERSHIP WITH SHEPHERD VILLAGE – TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL CARE TO THEIR RESIDENTS.  SHEPHERD VILLAGE IS ALSO AN INNOVATIVE COMPANY THAT THINKS OUTSIDE THE BOX.  THEY HAVE PROVIDED A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT AND OFFICE FOR MOSAIC STAFF TO WORK FROM.

A large number of much smaller, but highly important community relationships that are too numerous to mention.

MOSAIC PROVIDES ALONG WITH OUR HOMECARE SERVICES WHICH ARE THE CORE OF OUR BUSINESS, WE CONSIDER A BIG PART OF OUR JOB IS EDUCATION.  OUR TAGLINE IS PASSION, COMPASSION AND EDUCATION.

WE ARE VERY COMMUNITY FOCUSED.  WE ARE THE FIRST PRIVATE HOMECARE ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE RESOURCE CENTRES AND EDUCATIONAL HOBBY-BASED EVENTS FOR ALL AGES.  WE NOW HAVE TWO RESOURCE CENTRES – ONE IN MARKHAM AND OUR NEW ONE LAST YEAR AT THE CANADIAN NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND ON BAYVIEW.  A VERY MODERN, SPACIOUS AND INVITING BUILDING.  WE PROVIDE INFORMATION, IDENTIFY RESOURCES, AND PROVIDE LINKS TO OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO HELP FAMILIES.  ALL OF THIS HELPS PEOPLE BECOME INFORMED ABOUT WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE AND WHERE THEY CAN GO FOR HELP – SO THEY CAN MAKE SOUND PLANS AND DECISIONS.  EDUCATION IS POWER!!!

At Mosaic we have a WELL RESEARCHED VISION OF WHERE THE INDUSTRY AND ITS SERVICES MAY BE GOING AND WE ARE POSITIONING OURSELVES TO PROVIDE FOR THIS VISION AS THE FUTURE UNDFOLDS.

AT MOSAIC, WE BELIEVE IT’S REALLY IMPORTANT TO CREATE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY WHICH WE HAVE DEVELOPED THROUGH OUR LIFESTYLE SERVICES, ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY AT OUR RESOURCE CENTRES IN BOTH MARKHAM AND TORONTO FOR OUR CLIENTS, THEIR FAMILIES, SENIORS, AND CAREGIVERS AND OUR COLLEAGUES.  WE KNOW HOW IMPORTANT COMMUNITY IS TO WELLBEING.  YOU CAN VISIT OUR RESOURCE CENTRES AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS.  STAY CONNECTED THROUGH OUR BLOGS, NEWSLETTER AND EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ADDED TO OUR NEWSLETTER OR BLOG CUSTOMER LIST PLEASE SEE MALA OR KEVIN.
