Looking to keep active this winter, make new friends?  Join Mosaic’s Winter Pole Walking Group at our Markham location! After the success of our Summer Pole Walking Club, hosted with the help of Nordixx Pole Walking Canada, we are happy to offer this program  to our Markham location community at the Shops on Steeles and Don Mills.

Our Winter Pole Walking Club is a great way to stay active in the community this winter.  We will meet at our Community Resource Centre located on the lower level of the mall’s centre court at 9:30am.  We will serve coffee as we wait for our people to arrive. Once we are ready we will take a 5 minute stretch and then be off walking around the mall with our poles.

For people interested in attending please wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, and your Nordixx poles. If you do not have any poles, you are more than welcome to join us in just walking! We will have a few lender poles that we can give to attendees to try them out as well. After about an hour of walking, we will return to the resource centre where we can relax and enjoy refreshments!

Mosaic’s Winter Pole Walking Group is Mosaic’s first event of 2016!

We will be hosting a number of other fantastic, education, and fun events at both our locations! Our Foot Care Clinics return in January to both our Markham and Toronto locations, where our registered nurse we treat your feet and provide a message as well.

You can also join the Mosaic community for an afternoon filled of fun at our Game Time! Event, where we spend a few hours playing board games together. Finally later this month Mosaic opens its doors to CCAC who will letting our community know what CCAC can do for seniors. Mosaic is excited to kick off 2016 with wonderful events! We hope to see you soon!

This past summer, Mosaic hosted a Summer Pole Walking Club at our Toronto Location at the CNIB Centre which was a great success.  Every Thursday morning our group would meet at our office at the CNIB Centre at 9:30am and catch up over coffee. Once everyone was ready to go, we would all go downstairs and begin a 5 minute stretch, getting our muscles warm and loose before our walk. From then, the group would split into two groups, one would be led by Jane on a more mild walk, while another group would be led by Kevin, was a more intense walk. The groups would usually meet back at the CNIB office around 10:30 – 11:00 am, and enjoy refreshments. Our summer group ran for almost 3 months, and all participants enjoyed it!
