Respect for the aged day
My friend Ayako Nomura, who lives in Tokyo, lamented, via text, the recent loss of her grandma who would have been 100 years old, and the fact that today is “Respect for the Aged Day” in Japan. Respect for the Aged Day – 敬老の日 Ayako was her grandmother’s primary caregiver.
Isabella Ferrara: our community depends on its volunteers…
I just wanted to say a few words about volunteering and in particular Isabella Ferrara (President of SAVI). Events like the SAVI Seniorsfest event noted in my earlier post do not happen on their own. They happen because of the effort of a great many volunteers.
